Bad Girls of the Bible: And What We Can Learn from Them by Liz Curtis Higgs
Nonfiction
Liz Curtis uses examples of "bad girls" from the Old and New Testaments such as Eve, the woman at the well, and Jezebel, to name a few, to show how bad choices and actions can affect our lives, and how we can be healed and forgiven by God despite them. Each story is told with Liz's well known wit and humor, which makes the book a really entertaining read. You don't have to be a Bible scholar to enjoy the book, Liz breaks down the stories verse-by-verse and makes often hysterical and always insightful commentary on each. This book became so popular that it was an Evangelical Christian Publisher's Association Gold Medallion Finalist in 2000 and resulted in a sequel: Really Bad Girls of the Bible. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning more about not only the bad girls of the Bible, but also about themselves.
